Geoff Alexander

St. Louis native Geoff Alexander grew up singing, acting, and tumbling. Throughout high school he traveled to annual theatre conferences then went on to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville to further his studies. While taking his first formal modern and ballet classes he fell in love with dance which prompted him to change his major from Acting leading him to earn his BA in Dance Performance. His professional career began in 2008 with the ATrek Dance Collective working with internationally renowned artists such as Germaul Barnes, Jon Lehrer, Mathew Janczewski, and Alicia Graf Mack. He eventually began teaching ATreks contemporary classes. In 2011 he auditioned for, and became a founding member of what became The Big Muddy Dance Company. In recent years he was able to revisit his love of musical theatre through various Variety Children’s Theatre productions including: Peter Pan, Wizard of Oz, Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, and Beauty and the Beast. When he’s not dancing himself, Geoff is a freelance choreographer and teaches contemporary, jazz, and acrobatic classes.
